Pre-Labor Day/Back-to-School Sale

This Saturday, August 30th, I'll be having a Labor Day/Back-to-School Sale on all items in the store- both new and used. This is in addition to the other items on sale (see previous posts).





The discount will be 10% off any purchase of $40 or more. If you purchase other sale items or have a coupon, this cannot be combined. You will be given the greater of the discounts. As usual, no store credit can be used to receive the discounts.





However, you can still make an appointment to sell your merchandise and save your store credit for another shopping trip. Call 858-621-8776 to make an appointment for those of you having some trouble finding my number! Saturday's hours are 10-4.





Have you seen the New Crib Shoes I have for sale? Sizes small, medium, and large. Monchi Crib Shoes were designed by a mom who was tired of the design, feel and price of the current shoes on the market (such as robeez, etc.). These softer leather shoes are fabulously designed and hold up fantastically! And for only $18 a steal.

Remember, I also have See Kai Run in sizes 4-7 (in addition to various used shoes in excellent or new condition. My Melissa and Doug Toys are (as is everything in the store) below retail and of course- without shipping!

Updates and Comments

Thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog and even bigger thanks to those of you who have come by to meet me. Some come in to just browse or play and some to sell or buy, but I love meeting everyone!





This Friday I will be closing at 1:30 to attend my oldest daughter's Kindergarten Orientation. Something Mommy wants to be the one to attend with her so work has to be disrupted because this is very important to us both. Sorry for any inconvenience if you were planning on coming in, but business will resume as usual Saturday and thereafter.





I'm learning to take pictures with my new phone (I don't have a digital camera) and I have a friend who also took some early pictures of the store. So as soon as I have a chance I'll post some of those up. I'll also start posting some pictures here and there of cute outfits to give you an idea of the kinds of things around the store.





Speaking of back to school, remember I have clothing up to Junior sizes in the popular brands so bring in your teenager (or pre-teen) and see what bargains you can find. And have him/her clean out their closet and get some store credit to get some new stuff in. I try and only keep stylish clothing in the store so don't be afraid to check it out. I might not have the selection of stores like Buffalo Exchange (yet) but let's get there!





And remember I'm always taking donations :)

I also had so many people on my mailing list that I sent coupons to and only a few actually came in with them. Add my email to your "safe" list and I'll send out another round after Labor Day Weekend.

Don't let a bad day with the kids scare you from coming out to shop or sell. That's what the playroom is for! And rocking chair, etc.

Also, if you have a business that you think my customers would be interested in, bring on in some cards for an exchange.

Discounts August 26th - 30th

End of summer sale already? But it's San Diego and still heating up. I know those kids grow at the oddest times so all swimwear and cover-ups are 5% off.

I seem to have acquired an awful lot of baby boy clothing sizes 3-6 months and toddler girl clothing in 2T. Therefore, this week any purchase will be 5% off those sizes clothing. But if you spend $40 or more in that size, you will receive 10% off your entire purchase.

Discounts not to be combined with store credit. Cash or Credit/Debit card purchases only.

Remember I have both new and used clothing from newborn to juniors as well as maternity. New toys and shoes and a small selection of used. I also have random new and used items such as blankets, gift sets, bedding, designer diaper bags and more.

Three Week Update

Say What? Three Weeks Already???

I'm doing okay. I have been technically open now for three weeks and I am actually doing okay.

So Tuesdays and Saturdays are SLOW. So slow, I am so lucky I still have merchandise to tag, items to inventory, people to contact, floors to clean, babies to take care of, etc. etc. etc. and so no, I guess it is not really slow in the sense of "slow" but in the sense of low customer traffic.

New updates? Yes I have those!

My pictures should be coming in this week. So even though my huge walls are a wonderful calming shade of coffee brown, I want them decorated with my beautiful children.

Five other photographers have contacted me and while I would love to showcase you all, at this point I am going small and taking things day by day. However, every email is saved- never deleted. One never knows what turns the future may take.

So yeah, I have been officially open three full weeks now. I am doing good but I think I can do better. What can I do to encourage more? I think some people want lower end items but I want to be a boutique. I want the customers though. Bargain bin sounding like a good idea. Advertising needs to be a future investment! I'm getting myself and my cards out there but I need more.

And remember, I'm just like you. Another mom doing the best she can in the way she knows how.

This Week's Discounts

The week of the 19th through the 23rd the following discounts are in effect. Please print out a copy from here or craigslist (search SRMom3) or mention the ad to receive the discount. Again, these discounts are for Cash or Credit purchases only- Not to be used with store credit. Discounts cannot be combined. The greatest discount will be applied.

1. All swimwear and cover-ups are 5% off any purchase
2. This month, due to a low response, the Military discount is extended until the 23rd. 5% off any purchase with a military ID.
3. Purchase any new items worth $35 or more and recieve a 5% off purchase.
4. I have a 40 Week Pregnancy Journal from babystyle free to the first person who purchases Maternity Clothing of at least $30.

And remember, all resale items are fairly and comparably priced. I am a picky buyer and love to help you shop. All new items are priced below retail. And if I get a great deal on something- I pass it on!

Discounts!

I sent out an email with a 5% off coupon on a $30 purchase. If you were not on my mailing list but would like to be, send me an email or publish a comment on the blog and I'll get an email and send you a coupon.

Also, I will be offering a 5% Military Discount on the 15th of each month (or the following Tuesday if the 15th falls on Sunday or Monday since I'm only open Tuesday through Saturday 10-4. Military ID is required.

Group discounts are also available (playgroup? friends? etc.?) Contact me for more information and exact discount will be calculated depending on type of event and number attending.

Discounts cannot be combined with other offers or used on store credit. Also, I take cash or credit. Credit/Debit includes Visa/Mastercard/Discover and AmEx.

I also have a link to a coupon on Google Maps. Check for updates and new coupons- you never know!

When selling me items, store credit is kept in the store on a card and in my computer and does not expire.

Please sign in when you come into the store or when you are leaving so I can keep my lists updated. Also it helps me know what items people are looking for when I am buying things.

Looking for off brands? I have a ton at home to sell through craigslist or donate. Depends on when I can get a donation bin in. Until then there is a box in the store, so feel free to bring some stuff in or put anything I don't buy in there. I'm hoping to work with the YWCA/Becky's House.

And if you are out there flagging all my posts- you are only hurting people getting info on the store- I'm going to keep posting like everyone else. Most of my customers I have met through craigslist and I think it is a great place to work together.

I also finally got my business cards and would like to exchange them with some of the other resale shop owners since I take stuff they don't and vice versa. Referrals are good.

I hope to get the street signs up by next weekend the latest and bring in some more traffic. Between my three kids, family in town and my husband getting facial/jaw surgery I've been swamped whether at the store or not but I love it.

Return Policy

So it is officially in writing and can be referenced away from the store, my return policy is as follows:

• Within 7 days of purchase, any item can be refunded or exchanged, that is in original purchased condition with tags and receipt. Item will be refunded in the method paid. You must have the card you purchased the item on to get the refund back on that card. If you paid in cash and request a refund and I do not have enough cash in the register at the time you can either come back (I'll mark your receipt and we'll set up a time) or I will refund it to your debit or credit card.
• Within 30 days of purchase, any item can be exchanged or refunded for store credit, that is in original purchased condition with tags and receipt. I know sometimes we mean to return things sooner and can't get around to it. So, you can exchange or get store credit which does not expire if you procrastinate on getting the item back.
• If you do not have a receipt, but the item still has the original tags and is in the same condition as it was purchased in (I mark any flaws in my inventory and on the tags for reference), you have 30 days to make an exchange or receive store credit. How will I know it has been 30 days? Lucky guesses, remembering my customers and hopefully a good register and honest customers.
• If you have the reciept but do not have the tags, store credit or exchange will be issued within 7 days within the managers discretion. Translation: Items should be in the condition purchased- I know kids sometimes rip off the tags before we can try things on them!

I think that covers everything. Hopefully most of my customers will be satisfied with their purchases but I know sometimes things don't fit as planned or maybe you bought something as a gift. Or say you purchase a pair of shoes without your little one there to try them on. I can't be Nordstrom's, however I will do my best to keep everyone happy!

I'm still in the store tagging and pricing while setting up but I'm officially open for business. That's why I have not had time to update my blog- but I will!

Store hours are 10-4 Tuesday through Saturday. I don't have any street signs, but my banner is up above my door and a few people have found me so far.

I buy, cash or credit, but by appointment. And I sell- anytime!

The kids and mom's area is complete and comfortable. Come take a look. Ignore the dust and just relax. Bring a friend and let your kids play.
